Earthquake “Free” Hundreds of Prisoners
An earthquake with 8.8 magnitude Ricter Scale
Hundreds of prisoners in Chile (Chile) takes advantage of a massive earthquake last weekend as an “opportunity in hardship.” While many residents felt frightened by the earthquake, the prisoners actually considered a natural disaster as an instant road to freedom.
Penitentiary police chief (LP) in the city of Chillan, Alejandro Jimenez, reveals that the 269 residents fled LP shortly after an earthquake measuring 8.8 on the Richter scale shook the city Saturday morning local time.
Excerpted from the pages of La Tercera newspaper and also published in the Inquirer newspaper pages, Jimenez said that they could escape the prison walls collapsed. The ruins of the wall injuring one of the warders.
